Great Blue Heron Outdoors was born from the love of wading and exploring rivers, streams, and wetlands. Wading is standing in a flowing stream casting a fly or carefully maneuvering through the predawn waters to set decoys. It is pulling a canoe to shore or pointing out a crawdad on the pebbled creek bed to a delighted child.
We are a place for people who love “wading sports” like fishing, wildfowling, paddling a canoe, and exploring in the water. One of our expressions is “Wade on in!” By this we mean, step into the water! But we also mean, give something new a try. Not all of our customers participate in wading sports, but they do like being by quiet waters. Some might want to “wade in” by reading a book or learning about camp fire cooking by a river. “Wading” is broad and there is room for everyone.
All of this depends on conservation and access to the waters where we paddle, wade, fish, and explore. We believe that education and shared participation in activities are key elements of a strong conservation ethic. We are here to share with our community our love of lakes, rivers, streams and wetlands.
Wade On In!
We look forward to knowing you,
Bob and the Great Blue Heron Outdoors Team
Why Coffee and Fishing?
One of our most cherished values is connection. We wanted to create a space for outdoor lovers to come together— to share thoughts, ideas, favorite fishing spots. We also wanted a place where our non-fishing friends and family members can feel at home as well.
